Look Who Turned One Layout

Monday, August 29, 2011
Morning and Happy Monday,
Wow....weekend surely went by really fast. I worked over night since Friday and my oh my...I missed weekend.
And the terrible thing is {after working a couple of over nites}, I came down with a cold. Yikes...
Anyway....

I have a layout that I made for Trail Makers Challenge.
The challenge is really FUN...Make a birthday layout with no birthday papers involve.
So...here's my creation,

My trick for this challenge is to use lots of birthday embellishments {balloons, cupcake and banner}. And the result turned out really FUN!

Well, I hope you give the challenge a try. You have until the end of the month to enter.
To find more about the challenge and the prize or more inspirations from my fellow DT, check the Trail Maker Blog.

Have a great week everyone.

Backyard BBQ Layout ~ August SimpleScrapper Template

Wednesday, August 10, 2011
Happy Wednesday dear Friends,
It's a gorgeous day here in Lincoln, Nebraska. We finally got a break from the heat waves that had been torturing us {for about 2 weeks}.

I have a layout to share with you today, and for this project I used one of the August Templates from Simple Scrapper.

The layout is called Backyard BBQ {simply}because the picture was taken when our family was having a BBQ dinner in our backyard. It was a real fun time and I'm glad I made a scrapbook layout to captured that memory.

So, without further ado here's my creation.

Patterned papers/die cut borders and die cut flowers are from Sassfrass Lass Sweetly Smitten Collection. The banners are Lili Bee Design This and That.

Well...that's my first Simple Scrapper August layout. I'll be sharing one more project later on this week.
I'll see you again soon. Happy Scrapping.

Wednesday, August 3, 2011
It's Wednesday Scrappers...and I'm back today with some scrapbook layouts using the August Scrapbook Kit from Burlap and Buttercups.

I hope you all enjoyed the Guest {Blog} Post that Rachel did yesterday. I was so amazed of what she and her design team members made using August kit. They all are just GORGEOUS, don't you agree?
Thanks again Rachel for sharing them with us.

Anyway, this month I'm so honored to have been invited to guest designing  for Rachel's new store.

After making these 4 layouts, I still have tons of leftover papers and embellishments to use.

Burlap & Buttercups August Reveal!

Tuesday, August 2, 2011
Hi, everyone!  I'm Rachel Wagner, owner of Burlap & Buttercups ~ and Tenny very graciously invited me to write a guest post on her blog today.  It's great to say hello to you all (who, I might add, have great taste since you follow Tenny's blog!).  =)  I was so excited when Tenny agreed to serve as our Guest Designer for August.  She created some truly amazing layouts with our August kit & add-ons:

That's the kit (hit the 'Esc' key if you'd like to stop animation and drool for a moment,) ;) and here's the add-on:

Now, don't let all those splashes of pink fool you.  Despite the many great feminine touches in the August kit, there are also countless possibilities for your more masculine pages, so to speak, with all of the kit's shades of blue, red, yellow, green, and beige.  I challenged myself to create a girly page, along with another more "boyish" layout:

I love those Pink Paislee alpha stickers, and between our kit's Prima Whisper flowers, the white paper flowers, gems, fabric-covered brads, ruffled trim (which I used to create the yellow flower), and teal alcohol ink, the possibilities for embellished flowers are truly endless!  And I cannot get enough of Simple Stories!!

Here's my "boy page":

And to give you just a couple more examples of the variety of layouts that can be created with our August kit, here are two incredible layouts created by a couple different members of our Design Team, from clean and simple to frilly and girly!  Nathalie Leonelli made this first page:

And Ria Mojica made this one:

I'm dying to show you what Tenny did, too, but I don't want to steal a blog post from her, since I think she's planning on featuring her layouts another day!  =)  But don't miss it ~ as you know, her work is just beautiful.

Thanks so much, friends, for letting me drop in and introduce myself.  And thank you, Tenny, for joining Burlap & Buttercups this month.  It's so much fun working with you!  Have a blessed day, everyone.

~Rachel
