Spending Time with You

Tuesday, September 27, 2011
I have a new scrapbook layout that I created for a couple different challenges.

The first challenge is from Scrap-It-Lah {Malaysian Based} Challenge Blog. I was pretty excited when I found this blog...mainly because it's an Asian Scrapbooking Blog. I remember when I was still in Indonesia I had never heard anything about scrapbooking. And now...it's the NEW Trend all over Asia.

Anyway...back to challenge :D
So this month challenge is to

Create your own mixed media background, using printed paper as a base.  Be sure to include at least 3 different paint colours in whatever effects you fancy.
Also ensure that you have at least twelve words on your layout, which can include the title, date (if you want to include one) and the journaling.

I have to admit...I LOVE this challenge. It's not only FUN, but also it lets you play and experiment something different. ALSO...they have a great prize to give away which is a Studio Calico Kit {you heard me right...:D}.
Hope you join me and play along. The deadline for the challenge is Midnight, Sept 30th 2011 {Malaysian Time}

Well.. here's my layout,

Now...if you know me very well...I LOVE sketches and almost can't scrap without it.
So...I incorporated the first challenge with the sketch challenge {#7} from My Scraps and More Blog.

Some detail looks on the layout

When Dustin found this layout...he told me that he doesn't like it. I was pretty surprised...but what can you say..he's only 4 and I hope he didn't really mean what he said :D because I totally LOVE this layout so much.

Until then scrappers,

Halloween Treat Box

Monday, September 26, 2011
Hello and Happy Monday Scrappy Friends,

Halloween is almost here...

So today I decided to make a Halloween Treat Box and this is also part of my Robin Nest  DT Project.
Here it is..

The Other Side

The Side Look

I made a {picture} template for this box and wanted to share it with you.

(click on the picture to see it bigger)

- Start with 7''x8'' cardstock
- Score 2 1/2'' from all side
- Score and fold the dotted/dash line
- Cut the bold line
- The Grey areas -- you can throw this away
- Assemble the box

For the handle:
- cut 1''x10'' cardstock
- on 1'' side score at 1/2''
- fold and adhere

I stapled the handle to the box and then covered it with Fairy Dust Dew Drops.

When you're done...it's decoration time :D
Halloween Glitter Ghosts Paper ~ I cut the ghosts and added dimensional glue

Lastly I stamped the words Happy Halloween and Trick or Treat on the papers.

I had FUN making this. It's easy and fast.
I'm pretty sure that I will be making more for Dustin's preschool friends.

Well...that's all from me today.
Thank you for stopping by and I wish you all a wonderful week.

Being One Layout

Saturday, September 24, 2011
Hello Scrappers,

Yesterday evening I managed to create a scrapbook layout {before I went to my overnight work}, and I'm gonna share it with you.

This layout is based on a sketch {challenge} from Basic Grey Blog.
So here's the sketch,

Isn't that a beautiful sketch? I was in LOVE with this the minute I saw it. And you need to see the Design Team samples....beautiful works.

Anyhow....here's my take on the sketch.

and some closer looks..

This layout is about my daughter's first birthday.

I used patterned papers from "Life Of The Party" collection. And the embellishments are mostly from my stash. LOVE the FUN look and feeling of this layout.

Well....I'll be back soon...I have some layouts to share....because there are lots of virtual crops going on and they have really great prizes.

Have a great weekend.

Thanks A Million Card

Wednesday, September 21, 2011
Today I made a CAS card for a couple different challenges.

The first one is CAS-ual Fridays, and for this week challenge is to make a small or mini card/cards.
The second one is Less Is More, and the challenge is Anything CAS goes.

So, without further ado....here's my mini CAS card,

the inside sentiment

This card is measured 3x3 and I used a couple different stamp sets from Close To My Heart.

Love the way this card turned out...and I guess I will be making more. :D
Anyway...I'll be back soon.

Halloween Swap

Tuesday, September 20, 2011
Recently...I joined a Halloween Swap hosted by bonbonscraps {aka Candy} over at YouTube.
This was my first swap with other youtubers and it was super FUN. And my partner is Rashidah ~ mmdo112800 on YouTube.

So for this swap...I had to make a Halloween layout and a Halloween Card.
Halloween theme is a bit a challenge for me....because I'm not really a big Halloween FAN.

Anyhoo....here are my creations.

I used the new Halloween papers from Doddlebug called Monster Mania, and I also added the cute Animal Monster {3D} stickers from Target.

You can watch this project live on my YouTube Channel.

Now..when I was away for the weekend, I received my swap from my other partner.
Her name is Sam and she's from England. Her YouTube Channel is samwri1984.
She did an amazing job creating a Halloween Layout for me. I just LOVE it so much because it's so stinkin CUTE.

Here it is...

I'm glad she decided to did a monster theme layout.
And here's the card she made me.

Well..I'm happy I joined this swap. I met a few new scrappy friends and was able to share my work with them too.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.
Take Care.

2011 Rail Fest

Monday, September 19, 2011
This past weekend, our family had a weekend get away.
And here's the story..

My hubby and son both share a very fun passion {can you guess?} TRAINS..
It's actually Dustin who made my hubby addicted to trains. And now...the whole family {oh yeah, that's including ME} is Train Fanatic.

From Sept 16-18...Union Pacific Corporation hosted a Rail Fest. It's located in North Platte, Nebraska.
3 hours away from where we live...and we had to go. Everyone in our household was very excited.

Here are some pictures from the trip..

Some FUN facts that we found out during the festival:
- In 2008, North Platte was named Rail Town USA
- North Platte is the home of Union Pacific's Bailey Yard ~ the largest train yard in the world
- There are about 1500 trains pass through this yard
- Their diesel shop is as big as 3 football fields

Here's the panorama picture of the Bailey Yard

Despite the gloomy and cold weather....we HAD wonderful and fun times...and already we're looking forward to next year, 150th anniversary celebration.

Anyhow....I hope I you enjoy this.
And I will be back tomorrow with some scrappy stuff.
Thank you for stopping.
Have a great week.

The Other Version of Me

Tuesday, September 13, 2011
I'm back again...
This week is the second week of school for Dustin..and everything went very well..and we all pretty much adjusted to the new schedules. Thank goodness...:D

Anyway...I just finished making a new layout. And this one is for a challenge over at Scraptastic Club Blog.
The challenge is pretty fun ~ Mix Alphas to create a title.

I think I got the best pictures to describe my title for this layout...
Well...let's just find out..

Many people have said it....my daughter looks so much like me.
So, I decided to titled this project, "The Other Version of Me".
I used a few different alphas on this. Some from American Craft {thickers}, some from Cosmo Cricket, and last but not least...the pink alphas are from Sassafrass.

We may look alike on the outside...but inside we're a bit different. However....I hope that one day she will become a scrapbooker/crafter just like me....{that way I have a partner in crime..:D}

Well....that's all for now. I'll see you soon.
Happy Scrapping.

This layout is one of my September projects for Robin Nest.

I called this layout, You're Toadally Awesome. Because to me Dustin is always AWESOME :D

Anyway...I used a sketch that I found on A Lil Scrap of Heaven community site and it's one of their weekly sketch challenge.

Randomness

Thursday, September 8, 2011
It's been awhile since I posted something. I'm still HERE. There's just a bit changes in our family routines, and I need to make some adjustments.

Yesterday was Dustin's first day as a pre-schooler. He was very excited...I was a bit nervous...his dad was very emotional {he took a half day off from work so that he could take Dustin to school}, and his sister was feeling lonely.

Here some pictures of Dustin.

When his school day was over...he told me and his dad that he had such a great time and looking forward to another day of school.

I couldn't believe how time goes by so fast. 11 years ago I came to the US to go to College...and now 11 years later I sent off my son to school. :D

Well..thank you for letting me share this randomness of life...and I will back soon with some crafty stuff.
Have a great day.

How Is It to be LOVED by You Layout

Thursday, September 1, 2011
Ok...This my second post for the day {which rarely happen...:D} and I have a scrapbook layout that I'd like to share with you.

The first day of the month is the Debut Day for The {Paper} Trail Makers Design Team Girls. And this month...my fellow designers created amazing projects for you all.

And here's my creation,

On this project, I used patterned papers from Little Yellow Bicycle {Clothlesine}, some flowers from Sassafrass, and lastly cardstock stickers from Niki Sivils {It's Raining. It's Pouring}.
You can get all these supplies from The Paper Trail Store.

When I found the cardstock sticker that said "How Sweet It Is"....I knew right away that I was gonna titled this layout...How sweet it is to be loved by you, a song by James Taylor. Since then...this song has stuck on my head...LOL. :D

Now, I have something else to share. Karen, the store owner, will be putting new products on her online store real soon. So, she decided to have a clean put sale {15% total purchase} that starts today until Monday. So...be sure to check the Challenge Blog for the CODE.

That's for today...my scrappy friends. I shall you again soon.
Have a wonderful, fun and scrappy September.
Hugs,
