It's a True Love ~ Creative Scrappers # 155

Tuesday, May 24, 2011
** WARNING ~ A really long post, but it's worth it to find out!! ~ **

I'm not sure why I don't scrap pictures of me and my hubby more often. So today, I made this layout that I dedicated to my husband, Leo.

I met my husband many many years ago. We both went to the same Middle School. We became a really good friend. He moved out of town into a boarding school for most of his High School life. We still kept in touch and hung out once in a while for a special occasion. After graduated from High School, he decided to go to The Philippine for College, and I came to the US.

In Summer 2001, I went home to Indonesia for Summer vacation. I happened to talk on the phone with him. A few days after that phone call, he told me that he's coming with me to the US, and study at the same College. I was so excited...because it was really hard {mentally} studying so far away from my family.

We became best friend to each other..and before we knew it we dated. LOL :D

We've been together for 9 years, and married for 5 years. He's my true love.

Well...enough for the love story. Let me show you the layout, and I used a sketch # 155 from Creative Scrappers.

Most of the supplies I used on this project were clearance stuff from Valentine's Day.
And this flower...

I made this using baking cups/cupcake cups. It's really simple and the result is fantastic.

Here's some instructions on how to make this flower.

Cuppy Flower {not sure what to call this flower}
Supplies : - Baking Cups/Cupcake Cups (I used 3 pieces)
                - Needle and Thread
                - Basic Papercrafting supply (Scissors and glue)
                - Flower center (can be: Button, Pearl...anything you want)
Steps:
1. Stack 3 pieces of baking cups/cupcake cups together, and then fold them in half.

2. Cut the center.

     Here's the result.

3. Do a running stitch around the circle.

When you're done, this how it will look,

4. Pull the thread together so there's no longer a big open circle.

Sometimes, you need to stitch across so that the circle is completely close.

5.  Cut/punch a small circle for the flower base, then apply an adhesive. Last but not least the flower.

6. Add the center....on this case, I use button.

7. Now the last and fun part. Separate the layers. Make it fluffy.

8. Enjoy your flower!!

So, what do you think? Easy and FUN right?
With so many designs and colors of baking cups....you can create beautiful flowers for many different occasion.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Hope you enjoy this post and give the flower a try.
Happy Scrapping, and I'll see you in the AM for SP&Company DT Wednesday.

At The Park Layout ~ Sketch Thursdays June GDT Challenge

Friday, May 20, 2011
Happy Friday Scrappers,

I decided to try and join the Challenge for June GDT over at Sketchy Thursdays. And for this tryout, they provide a sketch and a picture inspiration.

So here's the challenge,

It's a lovely sketch, and I'm in love with the color combo from the picture. I gave it a try and I came up with this layout called 'At The Park',

I love the combination colors of Orange Pumpkin and Blue Sky, and right way it reminds me of this picture of our family.

This layout really shows my style ~ Colorful, Playful, Clean and Simple.
And if you pay a real close attention to my creations, then you know that I love to add dimensional to my layout. {I can't scrap without my pop dots. LOL}

Anyway, on this project, I let my son helped me. I asked his suggestions where to put the stickers and chip boards, and I did exactly as he said. Last but not least, I did a little final touches by adding some paints.
This layout is all about FUN!

That's all for today. Thank you so much for stopping.
Hope you all have a wonderful scrappy weekend.
Take care. Hugs,

Unforgettable Layout

Wednesday, May 18, 2011
Hello and welcome to SP & Company Design Team Wednesday.

Every Wednesday, my fellow SP & Company designers and I will be sharing some inspirations with you all. So, be sure to visit all the designers' blog. For the complete list, you can find it HERE.

So today, I'm going to share a Scrapbook layout.
Here it is,

When I finished making this layout, I knew something was missing. So, I decided to add borders to the whole layout. Right away, I took SP & Company Scripty Script Stamp and stamped it all around. Then I distressed the edges and inked it.

Scripty Script Stamp Set is one of my favorite stamp sets. It's a background stamp and it's very useful. I think it's a must have stamp. :D

The pictures for this project were taken Winter 2009. Phoebe was only 3 months old, and she loved her soft and cute winter coat. I just LOVE these pictures.
I used a sketch from Sketch Inspiration # 219 when making this layout.

Well, that's all for today.
Thanks for visiting...I hope to see you soon.
Happy Scrapping. Hugs,

Spring Day Layout

Wednesday, May 11, 2011
While I'm writing this, the weather outside is really cloudy and starting to rain a little bit, and I can feel the cool breeze. Finally! It was HOT {like the Summer heat} for the last few days, and I'm so glad the weather changed for the better. What a Spring day.

Today, I'll be showing you a layout about Spring. The pictures were taken last Spring of 2010.
When I was working on this project, I kept hoping for beautiful and nice Spring Days. I'm not ready for Summer yet.

Anyway, today's layout is based on a sketch from Sketchy Thursdays.
Here's the sketch,

and here's my version of the sketch,

It's SOO SPRINGY...!
The closer look,

For this project..I did something that I've never done before {you heard me right}. I used Rubs-on {for the first time} all over the layout. It was pretty interesting..and I {kinda} liked it. And I'm sure...I'm going to use more of it now.

Well, that's all for today. I'm going to eat some pizzas and watch a movie with my kids. Rainy day is a lazy day in my household.

Until then scrapper.
Have a good rest of the week.

Summer Fun Layout - Sketch Inspiration

Monday, May 9, 2011
Hello and Happy Monday Everyone,

How's your Mothers' Day? I hope you had a fabulous one.
Well, if you're following me on facebook, then you know...I had a crazy and interesting weekend. I worked on Saturday nite {over nite} and worked again and again...and finally done {and came home} at 5 o'clock in the afternoon on Sunday. It was exhausting.
My hubby and kids took me out for dinner to celebrate the Mothers Day on Saturday nite before I went to work. It was nice and fun.

Anyway..I'm going to share 2 pages layout that I did based on a sketch from Sketch Inspiration #218. It's a fun sketch. So, here's the sketch and my take on it.

Lets take a closer look

I'm trying to catching up with Dustin's pics, and those were taken almost 3 years ago. It was really a summer fun.

Now...do you see those bubbles. I'm going to share with you a tutorial on how I made them. Super easy!
Are you ready? Here's my tutorial.

First - Find something in your household or your scrapbook stash that you can use to create circle patterns. In this case I used my acrylic paint bottle. The circle sizes are just perfect.
Second - Trace the circle. On this project I used the bottom paint {bottle} as big bubbles and the top paint {bottle} as small bubbles.
Third - I used Tulip Puffy Paint to create the bubble effects {you can get this paint pretty much everywhere. I got mine at Walmart}
Fourth - Apply the Puffy Paint on the circles bubbles. Let it dry.

Some tips:
- I laid the pictures and embellishments first before I traced the circle/bubbles. It's easier that way.

Well...that's for today. I'll be back tomorrow with another SP&Company project. Be sure to stop by!
Take Care and Have a great week.

Laugh Layout

Thursday, May 5, 2011
Doilies are HOT in the scrapping/crafting world these days. Seriously, a few months back...I didn't really know what doilies are {LOL}. And now....I have quite a few of them in my scrapping stash.
I have seen so many scrappers and artists use doilies in lots of creative ways, and today...I had a chance to play with it.

I was pretty excited when I saw Creative Scrappers sketch # 154...and I knew right away that I have to play along. Here's the sketch.

And here's my layout.

I decided not to use the real doilies on this layout. Instead I used stamped images from {My Minds Eye} the new Stella and Rose stamp. Love those doilies stamps, and I had tons of fun using it.
I also splattered some acrylic paints on the card stock to give a fun look.

The pictures are my son, Dustin, and my hubby, Leo. Dustin was just a few months old when these pictures were taken. Today, he's 4 years old. Oh goodness....time flies really fast. I love these photos so much.

Some closer looks on the layout.

The alphabets for the title were pretty boring. The color was just blue. So, I stamped some images using SP&Company Scripty Scripts Stamp, and it turned out really good {so much better too}.

Anyway..hope you enjoy this layout.
Thank you for stopping by and have a great day.
Take care. Hugs,
