My New Toys Layout

Wednesday, February 29, 2012
Happy Leap Year!!
So, what are you guys doing today? I did my usual Wednesday thing, nothing really special :D
However, I just can't believe that there are so many online offers with really good deals out there.

Anywhoo....
I have a scrapbook layout to share with you all.
A couple weeks ago, I found a challenge blog called Inspired By. And the current challenge is about 'typewriter'.

Currently, I own 2 {older style} typewriters. One of them I found it at Goodwill store and the other one from my local craigslist. I probably don't need two...but I couldn't resist the great deal.
I only spent less than $15 for both. Super excited!

So, here's my layout

This page is 8x8 in size.. and will go to my '2012 Project Life' album.

I realized that you can't really see my typewriters {on the layout}...so, here's the picture of me and my typewriters.

I use them mostly for journaling and I just LOVE them {and so are my kids}.

Well...I guess this is it, my last blog post for February 2012.
Thanks for visiting and I wish you all a wonderful March.

March 2012 Photo A Day Challenge

Tuesday, February 28, 2012
Hi everyone...
It's Tuesday. It's February 28 and tomorrow is the last day of the month.
Since this year is a leap year,...what are you going to do with the extra day?

HHHMMMmm....I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do, but I'm getting myself ready for March 2012 Photo A Day Challenge hosted by Chantelle over at Fat Mum Slim Blog.

I LOVE her prompts. It looks fun and easy.
I decided to join to this challenge because...I LOVE photography and this challenge will help me to notice the small things in life...that sometimes we just ignore.

I can't wait to start.
I will post the daily photo on my Twitter Account { #Marchphotoaday }and probably on my Facebook Page too. And I will post the whole month photos here, on my blog, on April 1st, 2012.

Now...talking about camera....
I LOVE my camera that hubby got me a few months ago Sony DSC-WX9 {I know....no dSLR just yet :D}

However, I have feeling that I will use my Cell Phone {HTC Evo} Camera  more, and here are my fave photo apps from Android Market Place:

 3. Drama Pic

SO excited....and I hope you all join the fun!!!
Have a wonderful Tuesday!!!

Journey ~ Canvas Create January 2012

Saturday, February 25, 2012
I tried to remember the first time I came across to Donna Downey's blog, but I couldn't. All I can remember are ..I  LOVE her style and herself in person.  She's the coolest and most talented artist. She's funny and a free-spirited person. Love her!! I hope one day...I get to meet her.

Every Wednesday, she releases a new 'inspiration' video. I learn a lot and I'm ready to give this new adventure a try...

Ok...so, let me back up a little bit. Donna Downey is a Mixed Media artist. She works with lots of different mediums, canvases, acrylic paints, watercolors, stamps {the list goes on and on}. Now, on the other hand, I'm new and not really familiar with this mixed media. I LOVE paints and stencils and that kind of things...but I have never ever tried the techniques Donna uses.

This past January, she launched a new club called "Canvas Create" 2012. Basically, it's a month to month tutorial and learning experience.

Click here

I decided to join...and although a little bit late....here's my canvas for January,

It doesn't look anything like Donna's Canvas...but hey...it's mine and I'm totally psych about this :D LOL {can you tell the excitement..}

Seriously, at first...I didn't know what I was doing. I was confused. And I remember what Donna said...'don't think about it...just do it!!!'

Anyway, here's some more pictures.

For this canvas, I picked the word 'JOURNEY'. My daily life is a journey, and when I decided to learn this mixed media...it's a new journey...so, that is the reason I used the word 'journey'.

I've received and watched the material/tutorial for February Canvas. It's another exciting one. I can't wait to get started...I just need to buy a couple of things.

Well, thanks for letting me share my new adventure with you all. Let me know what you think. I enjoy reading your thoughts. Have a wonderful weekend.

Holding You Layout

Friday, February 24, 2012
I couldn't believe that today is Friday. Time just passed by so fast...and of course I'm happy that weekend is here. My husband took a week off from work, and he went back yesterday...so it felt that today is Tuesday....or something. :D Also, since he was home a lot, I didn't scrap that much.
Anyway.....

Yesterday, I made a quick scrapbook layout. I used supplies that I got from Momenta D-Lite Team box.
I LOVE their products!!! I didn't say that because I'm representing them...but seriously...every single thing is just beautiful.

So, here's my creation.

This layout is about meeting the newborn baby girl, aka Miss Phoebe. It was such a beautiful moment and I finally was able to scrap it :D

Now...what do you think of the products I used? Gorgeous right?
If you like, you can order them directly from their site, http://momenta.com/, or {if you have a Hobby Lobby near by} you can buy them there too.

Well...that's all for today.
I need to make a quick errand before snuggling with family tonight.
Have a wonderful weekend.

A Life Journey Share

Sunday, February 19, 2012
Hi guys,
Hope you all had a wonderful and beautiful weekend.
I worked all weekend long. Actually, I just got home an hour ago then cooked dinner and finally able to sit down. I'm waiting for food to be done...so I figure...I better blog :D {kids are watching Disney Clubhouse and hubby is playing game}

Earlier today, I received an email from someone. Someone that I encountered about a year ago. She's a scrapping friend and She was just checking on me {how nice of her}.
The email that she sent today has our old {cyber} conversation. I went through them...and it made me smile.

When I first sent the email..I no nothing about her. However, I shared everything about me. Strange right..??
Anyway...my first email was a respond to the question...'what is God doing in your life?'
So...here's my answer and..I hope you enjoy reading it. It's kinda getting to know me a little bit :D
And trust me...this isn't just personal stuff...I believe that this story relates to who I am today...a scrapbooker.
{Note: The numbers on this story a bit off...remember I sent this a year ago.}

Hello, my name is Tenny Kusuma. I live in Lincoln, Nebraska with my family. I'm married to my childhood friend, Leo, for 5 years. Together we have 2 wonderful and very active children, Dustin, 4, and Phoebe, 2. I'm very blessed to be able to stay at home with the children during the week, and on the weekend I have the opportunity to help and take care the elderly {clients} at their homes.

Originally, I was born and raised in Indonesia. I came to the US about 11 years ago for college. When I was in Collage, I was majoring in Nursing. My collage life was hard and challenging. I wasn't sure if I really love my major. It was more like my parents' choice for me. I did very well during my first two years in college { My name was in Dean's List and Honor Roll list}, when I started my nursing classes...I struggled, financially and academic. My parents weren't able to send me money to pay tuition and I couldn't concentrate with my studies. I prayed a lot and asked God.."What do  you want me to do? and What's your plan?" I kept asking the same questions for at least a year. It seemed that I never find the answer. I started failing my nursing classes and the school gave me extra pressure with the unpaid tuition. I didn't know what to do, and my parents were kinda blaming me for failing my classes. I didn't stop praying and crying...
All I could think and ask {God} ~ Where are you? I need you and I need help.
When I was young..and when my parents' business was successful..They were able to sponsor a couple kids to finish high school. My dad sponsored my uncle and cousin. He paid their College tuition until they both graduated. But..nobody wanted to help me. It's all seemed so unfair.
With the unanswered prayers, I decided to leave collage in 2005. I didn't finish nursing, however, I was lucky enough to get Nurse Aide license.

I worked really hard just to help myself get by daily needs.

In 2006, I'm married to my childhood friend. A friend that God sent to me.
I knew Leo when we were in Middle School. We became really good friend. We hang out a lot. He's a year older than me. He went away for his high school years. I met him occasionally during {special} church events. After graduated high school, Leo went to The Phillipines for college. In 2002, I had a chance to talk to him on the phone. Not long after that, he decided to come to the US and enrolled at the same college where I was studying. We both leaned on each other {because our family are far away}.

Marrying Leo is a dream come true. I had a crush on him long time ago. And having 2 kids {a boy and a girl} is also a dream come true.

Not to long ago, I had a quiet moment with God. Trying to figure out my life. And I found out that He cares so much about me.
He knew that I wasn't enjoying Nursing school so much. He knew that being a nurse isn't for me. He let me failed those classes because he wanted me to get out college and experience life. He let me decide what I'm really good at.
He didn't send anybody to pay my tuition because it's worthless.

God gave a friend and a soul mate. He also blessed me with beautiful children. He gave a son as the oldest child because He knew I always wanted an older brother {I'm the oldest of 3 girls}.

My daily life is always blessed.The journey is never easy, but it's fun. God is always there for me and my family.
He works wonderful things for us.

I'm so thankful that I had the opportunity to raise my kids, and teach them about God and His love.

I've been crafting since I was in High School. I believe I got the genes from my mom.
I started Scrapbooking about 5 years ago after I left college. It's on and off for a while. After the birth of my second child, I scrapbook more. I want to capture {our family} beautiful  moments together.
I love scrapbooking a lot. Finding the right patterned paper with the matching cardstocks and embellishments is like creating a new life.
I also love to find inspirations by visiting other scrappers' blog. I'd LOVE to be an inspiration to other too.

Life is like a big school. We learn and do homework, to find God's plan for our life.

I hope I don't bored you with my story, and thank you for reading this. It means a lot.
Yeah....when I wrote that email....tears just pouring down my face. Now, a year later, when I read this...I have a smile on my face. My life journey is kinda different now...It's still hard, bumpy and fun, but I believe God is still there. He still cares about me and He cares that I LOVE what I'm doing right now....scrapbooking!!! :D

I'm addicted to pinterest...and I found this wonderful quote. And I'd love to share it with you. It means a lot to me.

Thank you so much for letting me share this with you all.
Have a wonderful week and Take Care.

You & Me ~ The Paper Variety Guest Designing

Thursday, February 16, 2012
I got a wonderful opportunity to be a guest designer over at The Paper Variety Challenge Blog. And as I mentioned before, this challenge blog is one of my fave. They have really great challenges as well as sponsors :D So....check them out!!!

Now...every month, they run 2 different challenges. And this month, I was guest designing for the second one. I was hoping for a sketch challenge..but it didn't happen. So...here's the challenge:

Photo Inspiration ~ Use the photo above to create any projects. {FYI: I LOVE LOVE this movie, it's so cute, romantic, FUNNY...and OMG...LOVE the set ~ Ireland is Beautiful. If you haven't watched this movie, you should...after all this year is a leap year!!}
Things that can inspire you from this photo:
  1. Color Combo ~ green/grey/white combination
  2. Engagement/Wedding Theme
  3. Project featuring a couple
  4. Include a froggie {Leap}
  5. Use a movie theme
  6. Irish Theme {the movie is set in Ireland}

At the beginning...I really struggled with this. This was {literally} totally a challenge for myself. I'm so comfortable using sketches...and when I'm given other than that..I'm lost {LOL}.
After 2 days gathering papers and embellishments and looking for the right picture...here's what I came up,

I used the color combo and 'the couple' ideas from the photo. And...I didn't use any sketches for this page. I just went with the flow...and I really LOVE the way it came out.

Anyway...I had a FUN and great time doing this and I hope you give this challenge a try too and who knows you could win a great prize from the sponsor, Apron Strings Designs.

Well...that's all for today.
Happy Scrapping to you all!!!!

Birthday Card ~ Momenta and CPS

Wednesday, February 8, 2012
My baby boy, Dustin, isn't a baby anymore. He's turning 5 today. Every time I call him 'baby', he always replies..'I'm not a baby...mama.' Oh well....to me, he's always be my baby boy :D and still I can't believe he's 5 yrs old.

So...this afternoon, after I picked him up from pre-school, he told me that he had such a great time at school because his friends sang for him and he got a special crown to wear and a little something from his teachers.
I'm glad he had such a good time...but one thing that he doesn't know yet.. the day isn't over yet and the celebration hasn't begun yet.

Anyway...we're gonna take him out for a little party tonight and just have fun.
I also made him this special Birthday card.

He saw this card last night when I was making it. He said he likes it...but I need to put his name down. :D

This card is also my very first project I made as a Momenta D-Lite Team. Momenta has lots of adorable products that make it so easy to create. The pattern papers are from 12x12 Family Outing Paper Pad {PA-2250}. The Robots stickers are Shimmer & Shine Stickers {ST-2232} and the alphabets are Black and White Alphabets Sticker Kit {ST-4490}.

Another thing about this card. I used a sketch that was posted over at Card Positioning System Blog.
They are having a 5th year anniversary celebration with lots of challenges and prizes.
This card is based on this sketch,

Well...I'm gonna go and play with kids before they bug me :D
Happy Hump Day!!!

Gratitude Journal 2011

Tuesday, February 7, 2012
Back in November of 2011, I posted HERE a bunch of scrappy supplies that I was going to use to make a Gratitude Journal.

Well, the journal is finally done awhile ago. I just haven't had a chance to share it with you. So...today is the day. And I tell you....I LOVE the way this journal turned out.

When I decided to make this journal, I had an idea...that the journal would look like the "Day Book" by Amy Tangerine. Well...my book doesn't look anything like Amy's Day Book, however, I used her ideas of using lots of elements inside the journal. I used tags, subway arts, envelopes and some acetate sheets. It was lots of FUN making it.

Anyway.... here's my 2011 Gratitude Journal.

Yup...it's a bit chuncky....{didnt plan it to be that way} :D.

And now...here's all the pages inside...{WARNING: Lots of pics}

That's all. Thanks for letting me share this with you.
Have a wonderful Tuesday.

A Good Time Layout ~ Frosted Designs Sketch

Friday, February 3, 2012
It's Friday and weekend is coming.
I had 3 weeks off from work and I'm going back tonight. I'm not really looking forward to it..{although the work is really easy} because we're supposed to get really heavy snow. I'd rather stay home and get comfy with my kids and hubby and my pretty papers :D Oh well..It'd be just fine.

So today, I have a new layout to share. I used a current sketch challenge over at Frosted Designs Blog.
Here's the {cool} sketch,

and now here's my layout,

Look at those funny faces...

I had a blast making this page. It was a bit challenging at first finding the papers {since I had so many}, however after that...I was like a kid...

Anyway that's all for today sharing. I hope I can make some layouts soon.
Have a great weekend and Happy Scrapping.
