Swiming By To Say "HELLO"

Tuesday, June 21, 2011
Today, it's the first day of Summer. So excited!!!
Surprisingly, the weather today is not so Summery yet. :D

When I think of Summer...I think of outdoor activities and traveling.
My kids have been having fun playing outside and just enjoy the open air. And as far as traveling goes...we have a plan in late August to go to Colorado for a family gathering.

Another thing about Summer is ~ time to play with water and cool off from the heat. In Nebraska, we don't have real beaches...but we have tons of lake that we can visit and swim. And this year, we're looking forward to spend time at the lake or swimming at the pool.

Talking about water...I created a card today.
A fun card. Ready to see....

I LOVE this card...unfortunately I can't keep it. This will be sent out to someone special. However, I think I will make one more of this card.

The image is from Mami Doodles. I created this card also for a challenge over at Some Odd Girl Blog {Create a white/kraft with 2 pops of color}.

Well, that's all for today. I'll be back tomorrow with SPandCompany DT Wednesday Post.
I wish you all a WONDERFUL Summer.

Beautiful Soul Layout

Monday, June 20, 2011
Hello again Scrappers,

I'm back...and this time I want to let you know that I have some very special guests from The Robin's Nest. They're here checking out my works. Yay...so excited :D So....WELCOME ladies to my Crafty Life Blog. And please...get comfy.

Today, I'll be showing you another simple scrapbook layout. Not only that, but I also will be sharing the whole process. So...I hope you bare with me. It's going to be a {bit} longer post, but it's gonna be FUN.

Here's my finished layout.

I really like simple layout. I believe that less is always more. And that's what this layout is all about.

Now..let's me show you how I did this.
1. I decided to go with 2 main colors...light green and light purple. So, I picked this patterned papers from My Minds Eye Lime Twist {Happy Go Lucky} Collection.
The first patterned paper I cut measured 6x12 then I adhered it to the cardstock right in the middle.

2. The second patterned paper ~ I cut at 3x12 and adhered it horizontal on the {half} bottom of the cardstock.

3. Another patterned paper was cut at 2x12. Then using scallop punch, I punched the edge {one side}. I glued it on top of the flower patterned paper.

4. Then I covered the line between the flower patterned paper and the green polkadot paper with a dark purple ribbon. That's all. I then glued down the pictures.

Now the fun part begins. Embellishing. There's no right or wrong way to do it. It's basically ->  you let yourself play and have fun. On this project...I decided to use some rhinestones. I added on top and on the bottom, also in the middle.

For the alphabets, I used white foam stickers {pretty boring}. I decided to painted to the matching colors.

Then, I made a handmade flower from pipe cleaner. Here's the supplies you need to make this easy and fun flower.

* Using two different shades, I cut the darker {pipe cleaner} color in 3 inches long. I need 6 total for this size. The lighter color, I cut at 2 1/2 inches long and I need only 4.
* Punch a small circle and apply glue all over it.
* Fold all the pipe cleaner in half.
* Arrange the darkest color {of pipe cleaners} on the circle cardstock to look like a flower.

* Then cover the middle of the flower with another punched circle.
* Arrange the lightest color on top
* When done, cover the middle of the flower with button and bling.
* Let the adhesive all dry.

Now...back again to my layout.
Lastly, Final Touches. I added felt leaves and some sentiments.
All Done. PPphhheewww. Fun right?

I'd like to enter this layout for these challenges:
Berry71Bleu ~ Purple Garden
The {Paper} Trail Makers ~ Anything Goes

I really hope you enjoy this...
Time flies, and I hope you scrapbook every precious moments.

Thank you for being here.
I hope you all have a great week.

Celebrating Summer ~ Sentimental Sundays Blog Hop

Sunday, June 19, 2011
Happy Sunday and Welcome to the Sentimental Sundays "Celebrate Summer" Blog Hop. I'm so excited to have you here, and I hope you're enjoying the hop.

If you've arrived here from Marlene's blog, then you're on the right track :D

For most of us here, in the northern hemisphere, June 21 will be the first day of Summer. So, for this blog hop, I picked a picture of my son when he was only 18 months playing with water in the hot Summer day, and I made this scrapbook layout to capture the beauty of Summer.

So, here it is,

On this layout, I didn't use any patterned papers....instead I played with paints. Another fun ways to scrapping.

Well, that's my creation...I hope you enjoy it and be inspired. Be sure to check others Sentimental Sundays Design Team members for more inspirations. You can find the whole list HERE.

Also....don't forget to comments on all the blog hop participants. Three mystery DT members will choose a winner {there will be 3 winners totals} from the comments left on their blog hop posts. The more you comments...the bigger your chances to win $10 gift certificate to Whimsy Stamps. The blog hop ends on Friday, June 24 at midnight EST. The winners will be announced on the Sentimental Sundays challenge blog on Sunday, June 26.

Now...hop on to Stacey's blog and find out her Sparkly creation she made. Again thank you for stopping by. Have a great day, week and Summer.
Hugs.

Sweet Summer Treat

Wednesday, June 15, 2011
Welcome to another SP and Company Design Team Wednesday.

Today, I'll be showing a scrapbook layout with a SP and Company stamp touches to it. I used a stamp set called Pretty Pendants. {And as you all may know}Pendants/Banners are HOT on scrapbooking industries these days. So, I hope you have one of these stamps in your stash.

Anyway...here's my layout,

Recently there is a new Frozen Yogurt Store, called Cherry On Top, opened nearby our house. I took the kids there one day..and they LOVE it! We go there once a week for a sweet {Summer} treat.

I used a sketch from The Scrappiest Blog {sketch # 124}, and also My Minds Eye Lime Twist {Life of The Party} paper collection.  It all turned out to be a simple Fun Summer Layout. {I'll be entering this layout for a challenge over at ScrapFit Workout Blog WWU # 7 Facebook}

That's my inspiration for you today, be sure to check all SP and Company designers' blogs for more fun and creative ideas {You can find the list HERE}.

Thank you for stopping by.

A Card for Father

Tuesday, June 14, 2011
I'm back today to show you my finish Fathers' Day Card that I made for hubby.

Here it is,

and some really closer looks :D

The digi image I used on this card is from Pollycraft {when they had a freebie day}, then I colored it the only technique I know ~ Regular Colored Pencils and Gamsol. Then I added glossy accent on the glasses. This image is so cool just like hubby.

The second image on this card, the big checklist image, is a stamp set from Close To My Heart. I heat embossed it with black emboss powder. The stamp set is one of my many CTMH fave stamps, because you actually can personalize the personalities. Those personalities I picked just like Leo's.

The last stamped image on the bottom is from Studio G stamp set that you can get from Michaels. Again I heat embossed it with blue emboss powder.

Patterned papers are from My Minds' Eye Stella and Rose {Hattie} Collection.

Lastly, I used a {this week} sketch from Sketch Saturday Challenge Blog.

I'd also enter this card into some challenges:
Sketch Saturday ~ Weekly Sketch
The {Paper} Trail Maker Challenge Blog ~ It's a Boy only Challenge

Hope you like this as much as Leo {oh yeah...he already saw this :D LOL}.
Thank you for stopping by, and be sure to come back in the morning for SP and Company DT Wednesday post. Have a great day.

OOOOHH Wait, before you go.......
I went through my new e-zine issue from SNR Volume #4 issue # 6 and found out not only 1 layout got published but 3. I was so suprised, because they said only 1 layout...but instead 3...:D I'm not going to tell which layouts, you will find out next month {or find them in the new issue}.

Anyway...you should check the SNR e-zine, they get tons of ideas and inspiration.

Ok....that's all ....THANK YOU. See you all soon.
Take Care. Hugs,

Fathers' Day Gift Project

Sunday, June 12, 2011
Hi everyone and Happy Sunday.

A week from today we'll be celebrating Fathers' Day. So today, I'm going to show you a special project that I made for my husband.

This project is also my very first creation for Sentimental Sundays Design Team. And this week challenge {#59} is to create something related to Fathers' Day or you can make a Masculine Card.

So, without further ado..here's my project.

the closer looks,

This is {also} my first time working with canvas. It's not much different than regular scrapbooking, except this one is a lot of mod podging to seal the paper and picture.

The size of the canvas is 11x14, and I got it from Michaels when they're on sale. I used a sketch from Artful Delight June Sketch Challenge as a guidance. A simple sketch and totally rocks.

I really love how this project turned out, and my husband loves it so much too {it's kinda hard to keep this one a secret, he always gives me feedback and suggestion on my work}.
If you haven't tried scrapbooking on a canvas, you should give it a try. It's FUN!.

I'd like to submit this for the following challenges:
The Paper Variety ~ For the Guys Challenge
Artful Delight Kit ~ June Sketch Challenge
Polkadot Door Designs ~ June Inspiration Challenge {elements: Scribble Tiles}

Well, that's all for today. All I need to do now is making a Fathers' Day card.
Until then scrappers. Have a wonderful Sunday.

4Ever Yours Layout ~ Sweet Peach Challenge

Tuesday, June 7, 2011
I'm back again today...with my second post.

This time I will be sharing a layout that I made for Sweet Peach Crop May Sketch Challenge.
Here's the sketch,

and here's my layout,

also some closer looks,

The pictures on this layout are my fave. My kids are huggers.

Also, I titled this project Forever Yours for a reason....
I want both of my kids to know...that no matter what happen, they will always have each others.

I did this project over the weekend while working overnight. My overnight shift is kinda my crop night. I have to stay awake doing nothing until my client calls and asks for assistance. So, scrapbooking is my best activity during those hours.

Anyway, thank you so much for stopping by again.
Take Care.
