Summer Fun Layout - Sketch Inspiration

Monday, May 9, 2011
Hello and Happy Monday Everyone,

How's your Mothers' Day? I hope you had a fabulous one.
Well, if you're following me on facebook, then you know...I had a crazy and interesting weekend. I worked on Saturday nite {over nite} and worked again and again...and finally done {and came home} at 5 o'clock in the afternoon on Sunday. It was exhausting.
My hubby and kids took me out for dinner to celebrate the Mothers Day on Saturday nite before I went to work. It was nice and fun.

Anyway..I'm going to share 2 pages layout that I did based on a sketch from Sketch Inspiration #218. It's a fun sketch. So, here's the sketch and my take on it.

Lets take a closer look

I'm trying to catching up with Dustin's pics, and those were taken almost 3 years ago. It was really a summer fun.

Now...do you see those bubbles. I'm going to share with you a tutorial on how I made them. Super easy!
Are you ready? Here's my tutorial.

First - Find something in your household or your scrapbook stash that you can use to create circle patterns. In this case I used my acrylic paint bottle. The circle sizes are just perfect.
Second - Trace the circle. On this project I used the bottom paint {bottle} as big bubbles and the top paint {bottle} as small bubbles.
Third - I used Tulip Puffy Paint to create the bubble effects {you can get this paint pretty much everywhere. I got mine at Walmart}
Fourth - Apply the Puffy Paint on the circles bubbles. Let it dry.

Some tips:
- I laid the pictures and embellishments first before I traced the circle/bubbles. It's easier that way.

Well...that's for today. I'll be back tomorrow with another SP&Company project. Be sure to stop by!
Take Care and Have a great week.
Hugs,

Laugh Layout

Thursday, May 5, 2011
Doilies are HOT in the scrapping/crafting world these days. Seriously, a few months back...I didn't really know what doilies are {LOL}. And now....I have quite a few of them in my scrapping stash.
I have seen so many scrappers and artists use doilies in lots of creative ways, and today...I had a chance to play with it.

I was pretty excited when I saw Creative Scrappers sketch # 154...and I knew right away that I have to play along. Here's the sketch.

And here's my layout.

I decided not to use the real doilies on this layout. Instead I used stamped images from {My Minds Eye} the new Stella and Rose stamp. Love those doilies stamps, and I had tons of fun using it.
I also splattered some acrylic paints on the card stock to give a fun look.

The pictures are my son, Dustin, and my hubby, Leo. Dustin was just a few months old when these pictures were taken. Today, he's 4 years old. Oh goodness....time flies really fast. I love these photos so much.

Some closer looks on the layout.

The alphabets for the title were pretty boring. The color was just blue. So, I stamped some images using SP&Company Scripty Scripts Stamp, and it turned out really good {so much better too}.

Anyway..hope you enjoy this layout.
Thank you for stopping by and have a great day.
Take care. Hugs,

My Garden -- SSC April Blog Hop

Monday, April 25, 2011
Hello and Happy Monday Everyone....
I hope you all had a wonderful and blessed Easter weekend.

Today, I have something special to share with you.
If you here for Simply Scrapping Craft April Blog Hop then WELCOME. Make yourself comfortable and I hope you enjoy your hop.

Ok, so SSC April Blog Hop challenge is SPRING.
I love Spring {it's my fave season} and I always look forward to play outside and start gardening. However, this year...Spring came a bit late here in Lincoln, Nebraska. The weather has been cold and cloudy and rainy. I can take the rain, but cold....yikes...better stay inside.
I've been dreaming about gardening. I just can't wait.

So, for this blog hop...I created a crafty garden.
A garden made from papers and other crafty things and I really enjoy looking at it all the time.
Here it is....MY GARDEN...

This project is a really fun project, and  I basically used most of my scrap papers {great way to recycle}.
A closer look at the flowers.

This is how imagine my {real} garden would look like, lots of different flowers. I also love the pinwheel and other creatures that like to play around it. Do you see those birds....? I love birds...and we're lucky that there are lots of birds around my house/garden. The birds on this project are from SP&Company. They're digi stamps that I colored.

Well, I hope that the weather will get warm up a little bit, and I can start this year garden outside.

That's all for today scrapper. Thank you so much for hopping and visiting my blog.
If you'd like to play along, you can add your link HERE.
I'd like to hear from you, so, leave me a comment.

Again thanks. Have a great week.
Take Care...and ENJOY your SPRING.

Toilet Paper Mini Album

Thursday, April 21, 2011
If you follow me on my YouTube channel...then you probably have seen this project. I made this mini album awhile ago for a swap over at The Scrap Beach, and I just realized that I haven't share it with you here in my blog. So..here's my very first Toilet Paper Mini Album.

When I signed up for this swap...I was pretty excited and at the same time nervous. Not sure how I was gonna create this, then my partner emailed me and said, "make it whatever your heart desire." Pretty cool...so this album was a bit scrappy experiment {LOL}.

I used {a total of} 5 toilet paper rolls {good way to Recycle those rolls}, then flattened out. I painted the top and side of all the TP rolls. I did lots of scrapping and stamping too.
And it came out beautifully. You can watch my video for this mini album HERE. Have fun watching

I'm planning on making another one for my family, however this time I'm going to use The Paper Towel Rolls. It's a bit longer...so it will give me more space to work on. But I need to wait until the paper towel itself all gone.

Well...thanks for stopping by.
Take Care and Happy Scrapping.

Tuesday, April 19, 2011
I wish you could see me on Sunday night when I received an email from Samantha Peyton, owner and designer of SP & Company. I did a small dancing...LOL. Basically, the email said that I was picked to be one of SP & Company {awesome} designers. Oh My Goodness...I was so excited!!!! This is the first time I'm on a design team.

Yesterday, she finally made it OFFICIAL on her blog, and I spent my afternoon to get to know the other girls and chat. It was a fun afternoon.

Oh goodness, still can't believe I made it.....and here's my DT button. Isn't that cute???

Anyway, I can't tell you enough how I'm so grateful to be on SP & Company Design Team. And the girls {the other DT} are so friendly and talented. The coolest thing is -- they're all from around the world.

So, if you have never heard of this company before....you should CHECK IT OUT!! Samantha offers a unique monthly stamp kit with very affordable price. Also, her acrylic stamps are just beautiful. OOhhh and for those of you who love Digi Stamps, she also has them at her store. Cool right??

Oh yeah, one last thing....join SP Forum  and Gallery to meet great new friends and find new inspirations.

Smile

Thursday, April 14, 2011
Not too long ago, I joined a scrappy forum over at Scrapdango. While I was browsing around, I found a beautiful Scrapbook layout by one of the design teams. The page is called Thank Heaven for Little Boys, and it's created by Laura Gilhuly. The layout is so simple, yet stunning. Check it out HERE.

So, I challenged myself to scraplift Laura's artwork. Then again....I challenged myself to use the color RED {as the main color} and also just use 1 word for the title.

I love participating in all kind of {scrappy} challenges...however, never make a challenge for myself. Therefore, I'm super excited when I created this layout.
Here it is,

What do you think? Did I do good on my own challenge? I really like the way it turned out.

Anyway, thanks again for stopping by.

Pumpkins Galore

Wednesday, April 13, 2011
Hello and Happy Hump Day Everyone,

Today...I have 2 pages layout that I'm going to share with you. This project is totally Scramping {{???}}.
So, here it is --> 'Pumpkins Galore Layouts'

What do you think?
I forgot how fun it is making 2 pages layout, and I actually like it a lot. It gives you more space to display more pictures. I think...I will make more layout like this {2 pages}.

Anyway, let's take a closer look on each page.

Remember I mentioned about Scramping earlier? If you love scrapbooking and stamping {like me}, then you know this word. Scramping stands for Scrapbooking - Stamping, and that's what I did on this project. All embellishment are stamped images that I colored.

The pattern papers and the stamp all come from Close To My Heart Kit called Felicity. I used my i-rock to attached those blings, and also MS punch to make the border.

Well, I hope I will show you more 2 pages LO soon.
Take Care and Have a great rest of the week.

From Alex, "Happy Birthday"

Thursday, April 7, 2011
Hi everyone,

I have another birthday card to share with you. This time I used a sketch from Card Pattern {Sketch #109} and a digi stamp from Whimsy and Stars Design Studio. The stamp is called Alex Birthday.

Here's the sketch,

And here's my take on the sketch,

A closer looks.

So here's what I did to this card. I embossed the white cardstock with Cuttlebug folder. I colored Alex with my colored pencils {and gamsol}, cut it and added dimensional glues. Last but not least I stamped the word "Happy Birthday".

Love the simplicity of this card. Hope you love it too.

Now...before I go back to my scraproom and create, I need to share something with you all. Sami from The Scrapmaster's Paradise is doing {not one but two} giveaways on her blog. You need to check it out....
She designs really cute acrylic stamps and also owns a store called SP & Company.
First, she's giving away the new released stamps {April released} to 5 lucky winners. Enter HERE. And, second, she's giving away 3 boxes of scrap goodies. Enter HERE. SO excited!!!

Ok peeps....I'll see you all soon. Gonna work on 2 pages LO tonight. Hopefully I can get it done soon before the weekend. Thank you again for checking out my latest creation.
Take care.
