Make A Big Wish ~ Sentimental Sundays # 64

Sunday, July 17, 2011
So...I've heard from some of my scrappy friends that most of them have difficulty making a masculine card. And I totally agree. There are times when...I really don't know what to do either.

Then...I came up with my own theories for making masculine cards.
1. As long as there are no flowers and no flowerish patterned papers -- It Works
2. Use masculine colors

And now...I'm going to share with you a Sentimental Sundays Masculine Project {Challenge # 64}. It's a Masculine Birthday Card.

Here it is,

A simple one and I really think it's MASCULINE :D
Well, I hope you join this week challenge on Sentimental Sundays.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I wish you all a great week.

Recently...I've been using digi images on my scrapbook layout. I have to admit it's different and FUN and I really enjoy using it. It's another great way to embellish your page. If you haven't given it a try...you should. Perhaps you can play along with this challenge.

That's my inspiration for you. Thank you so much for stopping by.

Some NEWS!!!

Wednesday, July 13, 2011
Hi Scrappers,

It's Wednesday...half way through the week, and I hope you've all been having a wonderful week.
I'm gonna share some news with you today. Good and Bad.
Not sure which one to start.

Well...lets start with my son, Dustin. If you recall about a week ago, I told you that he's been having some fevers. And as of today, his fevers still hang around. He's been sick for almost 2 weeks.
Oh gosh...it's just so hard knowing that he's not doing well.

He was actually better for the weekend. But then, his sister was sick over the weekend. She had an ear infection, but with the magic power of antibiotic she's doing much better and no more fevers for her at all.

Dustin still plays and do stuff, but when the fever kicks in...he's just so weak and sometimes has to deal with the chill too. Poor poor kid....

Here's a picture of him...sleeping on the couch. He always wants me by his side all the time. {this is so stressful...specially when I have to go to work in the eve}.

I hope he will get better soon. And if you will remember him in your prayers...We're really appreciate it :D

Now...for the good news..

I'm way super duper excited that I've been chosen to be on 2 New DT.
The first one is Simple Scrapper`

LIfe Documented ~ Scrapping Everyday Miracles Challenge # 3

Monday, July 4, 2011
Happy Monday and Happy 4th of July Everyone...

Hope you're enjoying the 4th of July celebration.
My holiday weekend started a bit rough. My son had high fevers and we had to run him to hospital and back to the dr. office in the morning. He had some tests done, and still the doctors couldn't find anything.
Today is the 4th day and the fever seems to hang in there, comes and goes as its pleases. On the good side, he still plays {a lot} and enjoys the fireworks. We're hoping and praying that he gets better soon.

Anyway, today I'm going to share with you a layout that I made for Scrapping Everyday Miracles challenge # 3.  Well ...before I go even further, this month I have the honor to be their July Guest Designer. So excited :D

Scrapping Everyday Miracles  blog is all about sharing the miracles that we encounter daily and we share it through different kinds of scrapping challenges that the designers host. It's a really FUN blog.

So, the challenge # 3 is about "A NEW DAY" What small things do we really look forward everyday that we might take that for granted.

{Scrap Twist: Use Stitching on the Layout}

Here's my story and my miracle ~ Recently, I had some work schedules changes. I have to say it's a good thing. I used to work part-time about 15 hours a week, and now it changed to 34 hours a week. I work in the evening when my husband's  home.

Then I realized how I really miss to spend time together with the kids and my husband. I only have one day off in a week, and we usually use that day to take the kids to the lake and play on the playground. I always look forward to my day off :D

And here's my layout,

I titled this layout ~ Life Documented ~ Because the little thing in life is the biggest and most precious one.

This month, SRM Stickers is sponsoring this challenge, and I had a chance to use their product on my project. All I have to say...I LOVE the stickers.

Well that's from me today.
I hope you can join this challenge and others challenges too. Lots of prizes, and lots of miracles.
Thank you for stopping by and hope to see you soon.
Have a fabulous day.

I added doily, burlap strip, and crinkled seam binding ribbon. The flower is from Michaels Recollection, then I added some pearl and some feathers. I found a free clip art of an owl...colored it with regular colored pencils and OMS.

Swiming By To Say "HELLO"

Tuesday, June 21, 2011
Today, it's the first day of Summer. So excited!!!
Surprisingly, the weather today is not so Summery yet. :D

When I think of Summer...I think of outdoor activities and traveling.
My kids have been having fun playing outside and just enjoy the open air. And as far as traveling goes...we have a plan in late August to go to Colorado for a family gathering.

Another thing about Summer is ~ time to play with water and cool off from the heat. In Nebraska, we don't have real beaches...but we have tons of lake that we can visit and swim. And this year, we're looking forward to spend time at the lake or swimming at the pool.

Talking about water...I created a card today.
A fun card. Ready to see....

I LOVE this card...unfortunately I can't keep it. This will be sent out to someone special. However, I think I will make one more of this card.

The image is from Mami Doodles. I created this card also for a challenge over at Some Odd Girl Blog {Create a white/kraft with 2 pops of color}.

Well, that's all for today. I'll be back tomorrow with SPandCompany DT Wednesday Post.
I wish you all a WONDERFUL Summer.

Beautiful Soul Layout

Monday, June 20, 2011
Hello again Scrappers,

I'm back...and this time I want to let you know that I have some very special guests from The Robin's Nest. They're here checking out my works. Yay...so excited :D So....WELCOME ladies to my Crafty Life Blog. And please...get comfy.

Today, I'll be showing you another simple scrapbook layout. Not only that, but I also will be sharing the whole process. So...I hope you bare with me. It's going to be a {bit} longer post, but it's gonna be FUN.

Here's my finished layout.

I really like simple layout. I believe that less is always more. And that's what this layout is all about.

Now..let's me show you how I did this.
1. I decided to go with 2 main colors...light green and light purple. So, I picked this patterned papers from My Minds Eye Lime Twist {Happy Go Lucky} Collection.
The first patterned paper I cut measured 6x12 then I adhered it to the cardstock right in the middle.

2. The second patterned paper ~ I cut at 3x12 and adhered it horizontal on the {half} bottom of the cardstock.

3. Another patterned paper was cut at 2x12. Then using scallop punch, I punched the edge {one side}. I glued it on top of the flower patterned paper.

4. Then I covered the line between the flower patterned paper and the green polkadot paper with a dark purple ribbon. That's all. I then glued down the pictures.

Now the fun part begins. Embellishing. There's no right or wrong way to do it. It's basically ->  you let yourself play and have fun. On this project...I decided to use some rhinestones. I added on top and on the bottom, also in the middle.

For the alphabets, I used white foam stickers {pretty boring}. I decided to painted to the matching colors.

Then, I made a handmade flower from pipe cleaner. Here's the supplies you need to make this easy and fun flower.

* Using two different shades, I cut the darker {pipe cleaner} color in 3 inches long. I need 6 total for this size. The lighter color, I cut at 2 1/2 inches long and I need only 4.
* Punch a small circle and apply glue all over it.
* Fold all the pipe cleaner in half.
* Arrange the darkest color {of pipe cleaners} on the circle cardstock to look like a flower.

* Then cover the middle of the flower with another punched circle.
* Arrange the lightest color on top
* When done, cover the middle of the flower with button and bling.
* Let the adhesive all dry.

Now...back again to my layout.
Lastly, Final Touches. I added felt leaves and some sentiments.
All Done. PPphhheewww. Fun right?

I'd like to enter this layout for these challenges:
Berry71Bleu ~ Purple Garden
The {Paper} Trail Makers ~ Anything Goes

I really hope you enjoy this...
Time flies, and I hope you scrapbook every precious moments.

Thank you for being here.
I hope you all have a great week.
Take Care. Hugs,
